Comparable Market Appraisals (CMA’s)

Also known as a competitive market appraisal or simply an appraisal. It is more often than not referred to as just the CMA. Remember though that is industry jargon and most clients will not know what you mean by a CMA. C an stand for competitive or comparable, A can stand for analysis or appraisal. They all mean basically the same thing.

In this course we look at how to create a Comparable Market Analysis (CMA) and the information that should go into one. In residential property we primarily use the comparable method to determine expected market price of a property. However when determining an expected selling price for a rental investment such as a block of flats you may also use the Return on Investment Method.
